Gunby Inn caravan park plans suffer a hitch

There has been hitch in a controversial scheme for a static caravan site to be developed on land behind the Gunby Inn between Skegness and Spilsby.

At an East Lindsey planning committee meeting, members heard that the consent granted last month might be called in for review, partly because there had been two complaints from the public and partly because the authority had failed to advertise the application as a departure from the Local Plan.

Chairman Coun Neil Cooper did not go into detail but said the application was still “in process”.

Further discussion was put on hold pending clarification of the legal position at next month’s meeting of the committee.
