Popular Market Rasen tapas restaurant The Olive has announced it is closing.

In a statement on social media, owners Tommy and Chris Haughey said they had re-evaluated their personal lives during the lockdown and made the decision to move closer to relatives in Norfolk.

They said: “Sadly today we put a lease for sale sign above the door of The Olive.

“As with many folks over the lockdown, we have had plenty of time to re-evaluate our personal lives and have come to the conclusion it is now time in our lives to be with our nearest and dearest, and have decided when appropriate to move back to our roots in Norfolk, after 20 years away.

“Chris and I would like to thank the marvellous folks of Market Rasen for your support over the last three- and-a-half years, we have so much appreciated your loyal custom and have enjoyed bringing our style of restaurant food to you all, and have had many fantastic nights here at The Olive.”

The business, which includes eight letting rooms, is now up for sale.

Tommy and Chris are asking anyone interested in the business opportunity to get in touch via their Facebook page.

They said: “We are priced to sell at a difficult time, under normal circumstances it is a thriving business, please contact us for information.”
