GRAFFITI adorning the fence in Alford's Memorial Park began to disappear on Saturday as youngsters turned out in force to give it a much needed paint.
Saturday was the first of eight sessions which will see the youngsters complete the painting of the fence.
The project is part of an initiative headed by members of Alford, Mablethorpe, and Sutton on Sea Neighbourhood Policing Teams and the Yout
h Offending Service to help to improve Alford's image.
Police Community Support Officer Dee Phillips said: "Anti social behaviour and graffiti is a great cause for concern for many members of our community and it's important for those who engage in it to understand just what effect it can have on people's lives".
PCSO Phillips added: "It's important that we get feedback from the community so that we can tackle this behaviour.
"Every piece of information helps us to build up a picture of the extent of the problem and where it is occurring.
"This will help us to target our resources and also to work with other agencies and partners to address some of the causes and look at possible solutions".
Another way the community can give feedback to the police is by joining the local crime reduction panel - 'LN13 Crime Reduction'.
The next meeting will be held upstairs at Alford's Corn Exchange on Tuesday April 1 at 7.30pm.
