AN ALFORD actress is returning to her roots to perform in an amusing play on bank holiday Saturday.
Jenny Thomson belongs to the Dog-Eared Collective, a Leeds-based theatre company, who will perform The Bi-Annual Barbecue in St Wilfrid's Church Hall on Saturday, May 24, at 7.30pm.

It is a tale of village life where you will be transported to the
fictional Sea-Goat Island.

Russian gypsies, mariners and Morris men all become comically embroiled in the anarchic live performance that takes a sideways look at what it is to be British.
Bonnie, the Captain's wife, mourns her husband's disappearance while struggling to organise the bi-annual barbecue.

Jenny, who spent her formative years at Alford Primary School, is joined by Kathryn Hanke, James Huntington and Joanna Hutt, who met during their graduate course at Leeds University.

They devise and write everything they use and make their own costumes and props. They have performed more than 100 times in many different venues including the Edinburgh, Dublin, Swansea and Norwich Fringe Festivals, and at Louth Conoco Rooms last year.

Tickets cost £4, and are available from 01507 443989, or on the door.
