07/05/08 - Pupils adopt Noddy as their donkey

PUPILS at Huttoft Primary School have adopted Noddy from the Ratcliffe Donkey Sanctuary in their village.

Years 1 and 2 visited the sanctuary last Thursday to select a donkey to adopt.

They will be invited to watch when the farrier arrives to fit new shoes and also when the donkey dentist comes to check out the donkeys' teeth.

Their involvement with the donkey sanctuary will cover a whole host of curriculum subject from science to nature and many more.

The pupils presented £200 to volunteer Sarah Wilson which will help towards Noddy's keep.

The school intend to look after a donkey each year, which will be of benefit to both the pupils and the donkeys.
