FEARS that a valuable bus service could be axed have been alleviated by the manager of the Call Connect booking office.
Paul Sanders said Lincolnshire County Council were reviewing the 6D and 6E service which travels from Spilsby to Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea via Alford, but had no intention of stopping the buses going to Sutton.

The buses have become victims o
f their own success, sometimes with too many people wanting to travel on them, particularly between Mablethorpe and Sutton.
Concerned passengers contacted the Alford Standard when they feared they would no longer be able to travel to Sutton on one bus.

Drivers had told them the bus may only travel to Mablethorpe and cut across country to cut out Sutton altogether.
But Mr Sanders said the review was looking at how to prevent people just travelling between Mablethorpe and Sutton and taking up seats needed by those who wished to travel to the villages further afield.

There is an hourly bus between Mablethorpe and Sutton operated by Stagecoach and people are able to catch that, but as the Interconnect bus leaves five minutes before, some people have used the earlier bus.

Mr Sanders said the buses had been particularly full during the summer school holidays due to tourists, and they were concerned with the concessionary bus scheme in place that there could be capacity problems with the vehicle.
He added: "We will definitely keep the service to Sutton and have no plans to withdraw the service."
