A CHILDREN'S nursery in Alford has been shortlisted for possible honours in the Lincolnshire and Rutland Work-Based Learning Awards.
Mon Ami Children's Day Nursery has been put forward for the Small Employer of the Year Award –Apprenticeship.

Samantha Lunneman, the nursery owner, says apprenticeships are the way forward for training people interested in a career in childcare and education.

She said: "We are looking for commitment and motivation from learners. We believe that with the right mentoring and support they will go on to become caring and competent professional practitioners."

The nursery is the only Alford area business in the running for a learning award.
