Boston’s annual St George’s Day Parade understandably did not return in 2020.

To help mark this year’s St George’s Day, which fell on a Thursday, Scouts were invited to pop on their uniform and join neighbours in the weekly clap for carers salute.

These pictures are from when the parade was held in 1985.

With St George’s Day falling on a Tuesday that year, the parade took place relatively late in the month, on the 28th.

The photographs also feature a number of once-familiar shops in the background, such as Thrifty, in Wide Bargate, and Fosters, in Strait Bargate.
